What is dEssence?
dEssence is an AI assistant for life admin. You hand Tracy the things you would otherwise save for later, and she keeps track of them for you.
The aim is to get things handled instead of only answered: she does not wait for another prompt, she comes back when something changes or needs your attention.
How does Tracy work?
You send an item as it is. Tracy works out what it is, pulls out the key details, saves a summary and watches for what comes next.
- Send it: a link, screenshot, email or file
- Understand: Tracy extracts what matters and suggests next steps
- Watch: she checks prices, availability, deadlines and updates
- Return: she messages you when something changes or needs action
What can I hand off to Tracy?
Examples on the site include shopping, school and family dates, places and ideas, recipes, travel plans, and bills and subscriptions.
- Watch a product for a price drop or your size coming back
- Pull dates and to-dos out of family messages and forms
- Track renewals, payments and return windows
What does it cost, and what about my data?
Free is 0 USD with daily limits. Pro is 10 USD a month with higher limits and hourly checks. No credit card is needed to start and you can cancel at any time.
The site says content is encrypted in transit and at rest, is not sold to advertisers or data brokers and is not used to train third-party AI models. It also says you can export or delete everything on request.

How dEssence compares
| Option | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| dEssence | People who save things for later and want something to watch them and come back | Heavy use needs the paid plan, and the assistant only acts on what you send it |
| ChatGPT | Asking questions and drafting on demand | You start each conversation, so it does not watch things for you by default |
| Notion | Building your own organised system of notes and tasks | You set up and maintain the structure yourself |
| Browser bookmarks | A simple, free list of links | Nothing summarises them or tells you when a price, deadline or stock level changes |
dEssence is a fit when your problem is forgetting what you saved and missing the moment it matters. If you want a blank workspace or an assistant you only query on demand, a notes app or a chat assistant may suit better.
