The Trackboxx home page: GDPR-compliant web analytics without cookies, made in Germany.

What is Trackboxx?

Trackboxx is a web analytics tool that counts visits without using cookies. It shows where visitors come from, what they view and whether they convert.

It is positioned as an alternative to Google Analytics for site owners who want clear numbers without a consent banner.

How does tracking work without cookies?

Trackboxx uses the visitor’s IP address once, with other parameters, to create a hash that recognises the visitor during a session. The hash is deleted automatically after no more than 24 hours.

The company says it stores only essential analytics data such as visitor numbers, page views, traffic sources, bounce rate and device type. It also says that, in its view, a separate consent banner is not required, and notes that this is not legal advice.

What can I measure?

Visitor numbers and page views, time on site and bounce rate, browsers and devices, regions and cities, live visitors, referrers and sources, and conversions and UTM campaigns.

  • Ecommerce reports for orders, revenue and abandoned carts
  • Google Search Console integration
  • PDF reports and shareable dashboards

What does it cost?

There is a free plan limited to 1,000 pageviews a month. The Basic plan is 5 EUR a month for one website and up to 25,000 pageviews.

Business plans add ecommerce tracking, Google Search Console integration, up to 10 websites and 10 users. A 30-day trial is available with every plan.

Alternatives to Trackboxx

Google Analytics is free and widely used. Privacy-focused tools such as Plausible and Matomo and Trackboxx count visits with less personal data. They differ in hosting, price and features.
